**sigh** New baby is due in 18 days, though, and any extra money is heading in that direction, so unfortunately it will be a while until I can get my hands on that one.Īnyway, I hope the feedback can help you a bit. Now I have to get my hands on the Naga Trinity, so I can have all of those buttons with the 5G Optical Sensor.
I'm really used to my Naga Epic Chroma, though, and I have it mapped to the gills, so that's still my first choice over any of my others. Extended gaming sessions, and I would want to have the DAE, if only for comfort. If only an hour or two, then the Basilisk, with the thumb rest, clutch button, and adjustable scroll resistance, would do it for me.

Toward the end of my OW session last night, I found myself consciously wondering what to do with my right ring finger/pinky in order to make it a bit more comfortable.įor me, if Razer makes a hybrid of the two mice, with the right button groove and outward slant on the right side like the DAE, plus the thumb rest and DPI clutch button (the feel of that thing is fantastic) of the Basilisk, it would be the best of both worlds.įor now, though, if I had to choose between the two mice it would really depend on how long I would get for an average session. For me, the shape of the right side of the DAE is preferable over the Basilisk, as I get less fatigue with the muscles used with those fingers, over long hours of use. The Basilisk doesn't have that and the body seems to go back in on itself to give it a smaller footprint on that side, so you're left either gripping with a slightly tighter hand position that you would on the DAE or letting those fingers rest on the mousepad. The lack of a groove on the right button is noticeable on the Basilisk.ī) the Basilisk's thumb rest is a total plus.Ĭ) on the right side of the body of the DAE, there's a slight slant which helps rest your ring/pinky. It still had a slight bit of tactile feedback for each "click", but without the noise that let's you know that what you're holding is mostly a lot of hollow plastic.Ĭomparisons between the DAE and Basilisk:ġ) Actual size difference between the two are negligible.ģ) Response is the same, and the buttons that seem to be the same on each (the 2 main side ones and the 2 sensitivity default buttons on top) feel exactly the same.Ĥ) Some small things on each have their plusses over the other:Ī) the DAE has a slight groove on both the left and right buttons, which let your fingers sit there comfortably, but the Basilisk only has the groove on the left button.
It actually made it feel like it was slightly higher quality. I rolled it right back and it was so smooth. I haven't had a chance to try it on my Sphex v2 Mini, as I no longer have a desk to stick it to.ĥ) Being able to adjust the resistance of the scroll wheel is awesome. Whenever I'm not actually at my desk at home, I play on a Goliathus Mobile, and it feels great on that. First thing I did when I woke up was get the box back out and swap back to the standard button.Ĥ) Response is the same as my DAE. They're pretty average, but that lack of length on the clutch after I switched had me frustrated all night.
I don't have tiny hands I don't have huge hands. Mistake for me, because I kept having to shift my grip and extend my thumb a bit in order to reach it. The Basilisk feels similar in weight to all of my other wired-only Razer mice, the Death Adder Elite included.ģ) Before playing, I switched to the shorter DPI clutch button. but I digress.Īnd before you decide to read this, know that my internet connection kind of makes it impossible for me to play any kind of sniper with any effectiveness, so I re-mapped the DPI clutch button to something else (in this case, L-Shift for Overwatch).ġ) I always think that Razer mice are so light, probably because my first one was the Naga Epic Chroma and the rechargeable battery in there has some weight to it.

I really wish Overwatch was on the Paid2Play system permanently (but I just got Doom from GamersGate for less than 2k zGold, which I got for free when I bought the Basilisk, so it might be time to branch out a little).
So I've had the Basilisk for a day, and spent a few hours playing Overwatch with it last night.
